Over the years, I’ve worked with thousands of parents using swaddles. I’ve gotten to see features they love, concerns they have, and things they’ve wanted to see. And I’ve also learned so much about how to make sure that babies can safely and smoothly transition from womb to room. I designed the b.e.s.t. swaddle with all that in mind, and you and your baby in my heart.
What does “b.e.s.t.” stand for?anchor
Buttery soft & breathable fabric – Made from luxurious Oeko-Tex certified Modal, perfect for sensitive newborn skin.
Easy – Quick and frustration-free swaddling (even at 3AM).
Silent-seal closure – Keeps baby snug without disruptive Velcro sounds.
Three ways to swaddle – Inner band and/or outer wrap for a custom fit.
What makes this swaddle different?anchor
I’m Cara Dumaplin, baby nurse, mom of 4, pediatric sleep expert, and founder of Taking Cara Babies. I’m a nurse with over 25 years of hand-on experience caring for newborns. In that time, I’ve swaddled thousands of babies and tested nearly every swaddle on the market. As a mom of four and founder of the #1 newborn sleep class in the world, I’ve learned what parents and babies need and want in a swaddle. I’ve used all of that expertise to design the b.e.s.t. swaddle to be both effective and easy to use—no frustration, just better sleep.
One of its most unique features is the silent-seal closure. It’s a game-changer for parents. Unlike swaddles with loud Velcro that can startle a sleeping baby, the b.e.s.t. swaddle uses a quiet, secure closure that lets you wrap and adjust without any disruptive noise.
The b.e.s.t. swaddle also offers three customizable ways to swaddle, so it grows with your baby, adapts to their needs, and adjusts to your preferences.
And every swaddle comes with a free mini sleep class to give you the tools you need to help your little one love the swaddle.
All of this combined with ultra-soft, breathable Oeko-Tex certified Modal fabric and a fit designed to last from day one through four months, the b.e.s.t. swaddle is truly a swaddle built with heart, science, and sleep in mind.
The b.e.s.t. swaddle is truly built with heart, science, and sleep in mind.
What are the three ways to swaddle?anchor
Bundled (outer wrap only): Perfect for quick, easy swaddling—especially during those middle-of-the-night changes.
Breezy (inner band only): Ideal for babies who tend to run warm but still need that comforting snugness.
Breakout Proof (inner band + outer wrap): The most secure option for babies who love to wiggle but need to feel snug and safe.
When can I use the b.e.s.t. swaddle?anchor
The b.e.s.t. swaddle can be used from birth to 4 months (or until a baby shows signs of rolling). The swaddle adjusts as your baby grows through those first few months.
Is this swaddle considered to be safe for a baby’s hips?anchor
All three swaddle options with the b.e.s.t. swaddle allow for your baby’s legs to move into a “froggy” position, protecting their hip development.
Is swaddling safe? anchor
Yes, swaddling is considered safe when you follow the recommended guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Safe swaddling means:
Baby is placed on their back for every sleep
The swaddle is snug but not tight, allowing baby to breathe deeply and move hips freely
Your baby is a comfortable temperature and is not sweating, flushed, or showing signs of overheating
The swaddle is not near the baby’s mouth or nose and posing a risk for having a baby’s mouth or nose covered by the swaddle.
Discontinuing swaddling as soon as baby shows signs of rolling
I want you to feel confident in your decision to swaddle. If you want to see more of the research, be sure to read this blog.
What fabric is used in the swaddle?anchor
The b.e.s.t. swaddle is made with premium, baby-safe materials that are both soft and functional:
Main Body: 93% Modal | 7% Spandex
This blend provides a buttery soft feel and gentle stretch for a snug, comfortable fit. Modal is a breathable fabric made from natural beech tree pulp, and it’s Oeko-Tex® certified, meaning it’s been tested for safety and is free from harmful substances—perfect for a baby’s sensitive skin.
Silent-Seal Panels: 100% Polyester
These panels create a secure, quiet closure without the loud ripping sound of Velcro—no risk of waking your sleeping baby.
The result? A swaddle that’s safe, soft, and soothing—designed with both baby’s comfort and parents’ peace of mind in mind.
What is Oeko-Tex Certified Modal?anchor
Modal is a type of fabric made from natural beech tree pulp. It’s known for being exceptionally soft, breathable, and gentle on sensitive skin—which makes it a perfect choice for newborn products like swaddles.
When we say our Modal fabric is Oeko-Tex certified, it means it’s been tested by the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, one of the most respected and globally recognized safety standards for textiles. This certification guarantees that every component of the fabric—from the threads to the dyes—is free from harmful substances, including pesticides, heavy metals, and other chemicals that could be irritating or unsafe for babies.
In simple terms: Oeko-Tex certified Modal = ultra-soft, breathable fabric that’s safe, non-toxic, and made with your baby’s health in mind.
What are the care instructions? How do I wash it?anchor
You can wash the b.e.s.t. swaddle in the washing machine on a gentle cycle with cold water. We recommend laying it flat to dry to help preserve the quality of the fabric and the integrity of the silent-seal closure. If needed, you can tumble dry on low, in the provided laundry bag, but line drying is the gentlest option!
If my baby hasn’t liked other swaddles, will they like this one?anchor
With the customizable ways to swaddle, the buttery-soft fabric, and the tools you get from your mini class, I think your baby will love this swaddle!
